Our chapter has selected two projects on which to focus our 2015-2016 conservation efforts.
First, we have been granted permission by California Department of Fish and Wildlife to sow a 50 acre food plot within the Yolo Bypass to help support nesting pheasants, waterfowl and other wildlife with much needed food and cover crops.
Second, our members have voted to repair and/or construct new guzzler(s) in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains. Guzzlers are man-made watering tanks that collect rainwater and store it underground to supply year-round water for birds and all manner of wildlife. We feel this is especially important in the current drought conditions where wildlife is suffering.
